Isaiah 41:10 – “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

How to apply this Bible Verse to your life today! βœ…

Trust that God is with you. The Bible says once you are Saved (Romans 10:1) God will NEVER leave or forsake you, He will be faithful to complete any good work He has started in you until the return of Jesus Christ.

Deuteronomy 31:8 The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

Philippians 1:6 “I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus

Even if there is times you can’t feel God’s presence or you feel disconnected from Him know that He is NOT left you.

If you are feeling disconnected the things you can do to help feel connected again are; pray, worship, put some worship music on, get into the Word of God, stay away from sin and stay away from worldly things (stay away from music, TV, social media content that isn’t Godly/Christian content, stay away from anything promoting sin or anything demonic).

If you still feel disconnected know it may just be spiritual warfare trying to discourage you and it WILL pass. You can also try fasting, fasting for just a day is sufficient though please never go more then three days without water as that can be dangerous. Whenever you would normally eat or feel hungry get into the Word of God.

Does the Bible tell us to fast?🍽️✝️

The Bible does indeed talk about fasting. Do you HAVE TO fast? No. The Bible doesn’t command Christians to fast but it does talk about fasting having benefits for Christians and how to fast.

In the Bible one of the benefits of fasting is to use fasting and prayer in conjunction with one another to hear the Holy Spirit more if you really need a clear answer or guidance on a matter.

Acts 14:23 “And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.”

The other benefit the Bible speaks of in terms of fasting is spiritual warfare. If you feel you are under intense spiritual warfare or feel oppressed by demons the Bible says fasting can drive out demons.

Mark 9:29 “And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.”

In the Bible fasting specifically talks about food. I have seen online people talking about other types of fasting such as giving up social media for a certain amount of time or television. If you want to do that I am sure God appreciates the effort and sacrifice but there isn’t biblical scripture to back this up, the fasting in the Bible is very specifically speaking about fasting from food.

The Bible speaks about three types of fasting;

  • The Absolute Fast
  • The Normal Fast
  • The Partial Fast

Absolute Fast is the most extreme of the fasting and it includes fasting from both food and water.

Please note it is not safe to go without water for more than three days and if you suffer certain medical conditions the safety time could be even less so please do not do this without consulting your doctor first.

Normal Fast means going without food but still in taking water.

Partial Fast means you go without food but for a shorter period of time, for example you may just not eat one meal, you may eat breakfast and dinner but not lunch.

OR this can refer to eating but limiting the types of food you eat. For examples Christians often do what is nicknamed the “Daniel Fast” which consists of eating only water, vegetables and broth so you may only eat vegetable stew for example and not partake in any other foods especially “luxury foods” like desserts, cheese etc.

Have you tried fasting and did you find it have any benefits for you?

Did you feel closer to God doing this or feel you got an answer from God or the Holy Spirit by fasting?
